This craft is my favorite way to use up leftover fabric scraps. If you don`t regularly sew or have a big stash, you can always find great ハギレ bits of fabric at craft stores for very cheap. The rest of the supplies are easily available at the 100 yen stores, so with ¥500 you could make many unique ponytail holders.
A. Using the template from the kit, trace and cut out one 18mm and one 22mm circle using two different fabrics.
B. Make fabric buttons.
1) Lay fabric (print facing down) on rubber mold (included in kit) and place button on top (smooth, rounded part against fabric), then push button into mold with finger. 2) Gently pull fabric in to center. 3) Place back of the button with loop upwards into mold. 4) Use pusher (included in kit) to push back into button. Make sure you hear a little snap which means the fabric is secure. Then you can pop the button out of the mold!
C. Make ponytail holder.
Cut elastic about to about 20 cm length.
Tie a knot around each loop on back of button. Slide on wood bead. Tie elastic very tight and cut off excess. Push bead over knot and you are finished!
These are great gifts, as well! Enjoy and I dare you not to get addicted like me!
