World Family Map
Using this printable map and world families cutouts, you can explore the world with your children and talk about the thing that unite us all, love!
Helping children become more aware and compassionate about the world we live in through crafts, the blog`Children Inspire Design` eloquently addresses the current refugee crisis and gives tips on how to open up a discussion with your children regarding such difficult topics. My 4 year old isn`t quite ready for this type of conversation, but we still talked about how all parents love their children (just like mommy and papa love her!) and how all children love to play (just like her!) and want to be safe and happy with their families ( just like our family!).
Supplies: scissors, glue and two printouts of 1) the world world-map and 2) families Family-
Directions:
Cut out families and paste onto map.
Ok, apparently, cutting is super fun! My daughter reveled in using scissors and was beaming with her accomplishments.
The colorful illustrations are so sweet and natural.
Pasting them onto the map is when we started talking more. Immediately she wanted to the put the mama and baby dear close to where her `American grandma` lives since she has seen them when visiting. She adored the rhino mama carrying her baby on her back which encouraged us to find Africa on the map. Each family illustration garnered a natural curiosity from my daughter and allowed us to connect more directly with the map and the stories of these families.
The world looks wonderful full of loving families!
