Have you tried a towel turban yet? They are great. They save on space, washing and do the exact same job as a regular towel with only about 1/4 of the weight.
You can purchase brightly coloured, pretty versions through Rakuten for ¥1143, but they are also available at local ¥100 stores as well. They also make great souveniers for those of us that travel home often enough to be desperate for new, fun, useful gifts.
Here’s an easy simple diagram to show you how it’s done. Have fun! Post a picture in your turban if you dare! (Not just your turban please) 🙂
I love turban towels. I know you usually get provided towels in hotels and so forth in Japan, but I always throw one in to my luggage for emergencies! I never thought of giving them as a souvenier; thanks for the idea. They’ll probably be a welcome change from chopsticks and fans 🙂
Elle, I never thought of packing one with me on trips but that’s a great idea. Thanks for sharing. I’ll be doing that for sure on our next adventures. 🙂
